Got a new drive wheel for my 48 after many years hard work. These new ones with metal centre boss run even smoother than the old one and the customer service from these guys is absolutely amazing

After 18 months of heavy duty I damaged my 6mm contact wheel on my 84ENG’ waterfall grinding attachment so I ordered 2 replacements. They are exceptionally good quality and really do take a pounding in my workshop. If you don’t yet have the waterfall attachment from Ewen I’d suggest you order one as it has in my case almost eliminated hand sanding particularly when I’m making multiple sets of chefs knives. Do yourself a big favour and get one and you’ll really miss the hand sanding🤣

After 5 years of constant hard use the 2” contact wheel on my trusty noob(the last of its name) or what is now known as as the shopmate48 came apart in a stunning display of extreme self re-engineering (it broke) I was forced to do the unthinkable and have a look on the 84 engineering web site only to be informed that they were in stock (yay) but alas the frightful beast would not accept this humble maker of cutlery’s coin of the realm. So I had no recourse but to use the device known in this day as a (dadadaa) PHONE and call the dread engineer Ewan who with a flick of his wrist fixed the problem and had it out to me in three days
