Aluminium Oxide is a highly friable abrasive making it less prone to glazing - ideal for higher grits and soft materials. Aluminium oxide belts are ideal for achieving a higher grit finish on steel and soft handle materials once the shaping/stock removal is complete. These belts use an Italian made Sait abrasive backed by either J weight flexible or X weight medium resin bonded cloth backing.
We do not recommend using these belts for stock removal or shaping - especially in harder materials - as aluminium oxide belts are far less durable than their ceramic and zirconia counterparts.
